Outdoor play and learning
The nursery has a wonderful outside play space with a woodland and outside classroom. We have two rabbits Flopsy and Cottontail, and the children enjoy taking them tasty carrots and watching them play in the outside rabbit run. The children love the allotment in the garden, they dig the raised beds and plant vegetables that we will harvest and make into tasty soup and snacks.
An area has been fenced off and covered with rubber matting so that the children can free flow safely between the conservatory and the outside. The children are encouraged to choose where they want to be and take their activities and learning into the environment they choose.
We ask you to provide wellies and appropriate clothing for warm and cold weather so that we can make the most of the outside space throughout the year. Our ethos for supporting all childrens learning is to value the outside environment equally to support the whole child.
Please call to arrange a visit, we can’t wait to show you our wonderful nursery.

Indoor learning and exploring
All of the nursery rooms have quality natural wooden resources and are comfortable and homely. Children are encouraged to choose what they would like to use and the staff team enhance their learning through their chosen play.
The children’s progress and development is recorded on digital recording systems following the Early Years Foundation Stage Programme.
We take many pictures of the children enjoying their day and observe their progress and develop next steps to ensure they are reaching their full potential in all areas of learning, including their social and emotional wellbeing.
We encourage parents to send us pictures of family time and their learning and fun times at home with family, these will be added to the child’s learning journey to create a wider picture of what the child is able to achieve and creates a broader balance of their abilities in the whole of their environment.
